Armadores De Santander Reviews

Great base
Resort was selected by our trip company exodus it was somewhat worn and some of our company had issues with air conditioning however it was an awesome base to trip around Havana. We had suite 101 which has no windows however air conditioning and hot water worked and it was a really big suite. I think if we had stayed longer than 2 nights we'd have dreamed to move as rest of our party had suites with scenes. Brunch was not excellent not really big portions however bar was inexpensive and bar personnel charming. Would come back there.

Great/excellent resort in old havanna!
Excellent/great resort in old havanna. Everything is really close. Brunch is not the greatest we had but the roof top bar was excellent with an excellent view. Really wonderful resort although a little worn down. Many traffic just outdoors however havanna is never peaceful. Got suite 107 and really suggest it! Many spots to eat really close by and if you are in havanna to see old havanna this is the hotel to stay.

February 2013 marvelous
The resort personnel surpassed my anticipations, really supportive in every way. My suite was on 3rd floor with marvelous scenery of the harbour. The only unfavourable, no hot water, tepid at the very most & one day no water at all. The resort is a short walk to artist market, beer microbrewery, a lot of eating establishments and so on. If I ever have the honour to visit Havana again I'd wish to stay here

Pleasant hotel to stay in Havana
Can not comment on value as I was there as part of a trip of Cuba however thought was a really pleasant hotel to stay. Compared to other spots I would stayed in Cuba favourable palatial! I had 2 washrooms all to myself at either end of the suite with a small sitting area too. Washroom was excellent and the greatest shower I would had in Havana. Many hot water even though had to run it for a few of minutes. Appeared peaceful when we were there. Bar was great for beverages and quick meal cuisine. Brunch had many choices and was server service. Not too far from the handicraft market and rum museum and quick walk to a lot of restaurants and squares.

Amazing setting in old Havana
Setting is all for this resort. 2 minutes walk from markets either side and all the sites in old Havana. Cuisine is common cuban and service is great. Our accomodations were at the front with an awesome patio and scenes over the harbour. All spotless even though the elevators weren't always walking.

A great experience
We stayed in this resort for two nights only since the resort that we were presumed to stay in, Los frailes, had an issue with our booking. Santander only had two nights available out of six, so that is what we stayed, allthough we'd have stayed the whole time if available. Santander is a big resort on the docks, close by to everything in the town. The personnel was really pleasant. The guy who took us to our accomodations were very courteous and helpful, and gave us a lot of recommendations on what to see and do in Havana. The personnel at the bar were also excellent, and we were regarded to a free welcome drink. The suite was gigantic and had high ceilings, even though it was a little stinky. The area was peaceful, and we enjoyed our short stay there. I'd suggest it.

Only remained for one night, genuinely amazed.
We did not pick this resort, we stayed as part of an organized overnight vacation to Havana. In spite of the trip tour guide caution us not to anticipate too much, we were genuinely amazed by the resort. Pleasant, spotless appealing interior. Personnel were really supportive when I had to whine about sound from a neighbouring suite. In spite of the bell boy trying to flog me cigars and rum, and being served precisely the same meal five times back to back, we'd come back here another time in the unlikely event we ever come back to Havana. In spite of the scenes from the roof patio being rather industrial, the setting is awesome for exploring Havana

An adventure in Havana
Stayed at this resort in Havana throughout an 11 excursion as part of a conference. On an overall basis the resort was mostly pleasant, although a bit old. The suites are honestly sort of different, its an older house that has been converted into a resort. For instance my suite, which faced the harbour had a roof that was about 20 feet high, however another peers suite had only 10 foot ceilings. The suite's design was okay, nothing thrilling, however served its main purpose. The mattresses were standard twin beds, the mattresses were hard. One of the pleasant pieces about the suite was that the air conditioning worked excellent; but air conditioning seems to be restricted only to particular suites, instead of the shared areas. The housekeeping staff did a pleasant job of maintaining the suite, my specific maid loved to practice origami with the cushions and linen. The brunch was okay, nothing stellar, however was basically filling. The brunch menu had things that were not available for brunch, which was rather weird. As a whole, a pleasant standard variety. I often had an omelette with cheese and ham, the style was a little strange, you had the omelette with the ham and/or cheese put on top, however still tasted okay. I also often had a plate of chorizo hot dog, as well. Tried the supper menu one time, even though a little bit costly, I really enjoyed the sausage wrapped veal wrapped around ham. I did not use the interwebs, however my colleagues said it was a little costly for the number of minutes, however it was available. Desk service and service at the bar was often fast. Only one large issue, the power went out one night, so became quite hot in the resort, however they did get it running the following day. As a whole the personnel was often mostly courteous, accepting my less than pristine Spanish, and working with me to find specific locations. Prior to our departure, the guy in charge of the dining amenities noted that the resort would be providing a brunch to go, essentially a sandwich, he inquired if I would like chorizo instead of ham. This was a pleasant touch, as it indicated to that the personnel was taking some interest in their visitors options. In regards to its setting, the resort is decently situated to a few serious churches and squares in close a short walk, yet close enough to walk to some of the other historical areas closer to Plaza de armas. Even though the design May be considered exhausted, I look at security and how lovely a resort is. I'd certainly be inclined to stay at this resort should I come back to Havana

Courteous and helpful personnel.
I visited this resort for 9 days. I was staying with colleagues and we had 5 different suites reserved. The personnel made our stay really lovely. They were courteous and supportive. There was somebody who knew english at the reception all the time. The bellboy was always prepared to assist in directions and recommendations about restaurants, museums, and so on. This is a georgeously restored old block. A lot of of the suites do not have large windows however majority of the suites were really roomy and full of character. I'd suggest asking for a room or larger suite. If you would like a sight, you gotta request a suite looking over the harbour. Old televisions in the suites given cnn international and bbc news and many Spanish broadcasting. It was great to get news after being in the Country for a few of weeks. One suite (103) was pretty small and the washroom did not work at first, however that got repaired. The suites aren't cookie cutter suites. They're all different. The brunch was excellent, and included with our suite charge. It was a served brunch with eggs, ham, flapjacks, pastries, excellent coffee, fresh orange juice, and so on. Service was really fast and the dining suite was wonderful with a scenery of the harbour. Attached to the resort is a small restaurant/bar that was open constantly. We found a late night sandwich took a while to expect. I think they had to go out to get bread. Service for beverages was immediate. It was great to always have Access to cool beverages, bottled water, and so on. There is an interwebs kiosk in the restaurant that some our folks took advantage of. They told that they had no issue with emails from this. There are better restaurants just a few minute walk away at Plaza de San Francisco. I found the setting to be amazing for exploring to the town centre Havana. A $3 cuc cab lift to capitolio Nacional or museo de la revolucion, however I nearly always walked. There is a wonderful roof top patio. Ensure that you head up to the top of the stairs to unwind there. Great site to unwind, read a book, and so on. This resort is a little bit separated from some of the main traveler sites so it appears quieter and calmed. After a Long day exploring Havana it was a Real Sanctuary/oaisis to return to. The second suite I stayed in was gigantic, spotless, and really pleasant. Most of my time in Cuba has been outdoors of "traveler" destinations, staying with cubans in their Homes, so I know that this resort is high-end by cuban standards. It was pristine for our stay and I very much suggest it.

Excellent setting and justifiable price
Got in Via local travel counsellor and so we were a tiny leery at first however. The resort is an old converted mansion with many granite and high ceilings. The personnel are really courteous and the suites are spotless and completely practical (the beds are spotless, the water is hot, the toilets work, the refrigerator is filled with moderately priced "essentials"). The style is a little bit old and some of the floor tiles May be loose but the as a whole experience is excellent. The free brunch in the restaurant is easy however filling and an excellent start to a day in Havana. Most of old Havana is a quick walk (10 minutes) from the resort. The bar service is great and there is a lot of local environment passing by if you have a mohito and a cigar on the outdoors patio. The armatadores is a lovely start Point and refuge if you are preparing several days in old Havana. I contemplate coming back promptly!
